Guapira - Guarulhos.
Essa linha foi inaugurada em 1912 , para atender a demanda e o escoamento da produção da cidade, em especial da cerâmica Paulista, fundada pelo fazendeiro Francisco Galvão.Em 1942 foi adquirida pela Companhia Sorocabana de Estradas de Ferro e mais tarde, em 1965 foi desativada por completo, por não conseguir acompanhar o "progresso" e a chegada do carro que pouco a pouco foi tomando o lugar do trem.
Eram cinco estações: Vila Galvão,Torres Tibagy,Gopoúva,Vila Augusta e Guarulhos, depois, um ramal foi criado para atender a Base Aérea de Cumbica, utilizado apenas para os militares.A estação de Cumbica era construída em alvenaria e ainda existe, mas seu acesso é restrito por se tratar de uma área militar.
As demais estações foram demolidas, sobrando apenas vestígios.A única em pé, mas em péssimo estado de conservação é a estação Vila Augusta.
Da estação Vila Galvão, a primeira desse ramal, restam ruínas.A estação Torres Tibagy e a estação Gopoúva, sumiram por completo. A única existente é a estação Vila Augusta, onde reside uma família, mas encontra-se em rápido processo de deterioração, apresentando trincas, infiltrações na base e cercada por vegetação e anúncios publicitários.
A estação Guarulhos, que era o ponto final da linha, foi "reconstruída", como forma de memória, mas seu projeto lembra apenas parte do original. Existe uma anexo, conhecido como "casa amarela", que agora abriga o arquivo histórico municipal e já foi também uma escola. Quando o trem ainda era ativo, serviu também de moradia para os ferroviários. Hoje é local que apresenta grande perigo a noite porque é disputada por moradores de rua que procuram um local para dormir e usuários de drogas.A praça tornou-se um local inseguro!
O trem não é o mesmo que circulava, está na praça apenas para lembrar a existência da antiga linha.Ele pertencia à linha Tamoios, foi restaurado e colocado na praça há alguns anos, mas agora encontra-se em rápido processo de deterioração.
O descaso com a memória fica patente, não só em Guarulhos, mas no Brasil todo. O passado foi e continua sendo negligenciado através de sucessivos governos com políticas de desenvolvimento urbano por vezes desastrosas e mal planejadas, desrespeitando a população, sua história, sua memória.Desta forma, a estrutura ferroviária no Brasil foi sucateada e perdeu grande parte de seu patrimônio raramente sendo encontrado em bom estado de conservação.
Em Guarulhos, ainda existem poucos moradores ao longo do antigo trajeto que lembram de histórias vividas em um período mais "romântico", onde o tempo custava mais a passar!

Guapira - Guarulhos.

The neglect with the memory is clear, not only in Guarulhos, but all in Brazil. The past has been and continues to be neglected by successive governments with urban development policies sometimes disastrous and poorly planned, ignore the population, its history, its memory.
Thus, the rail structure in Brazil was lost and much of its patrimony is rarely found in good repair.
